07/10/2002 "Joke" During a brief diplomacy mission to Israel and Palstinian territory, George W. was intrigued by a new telephone service that connected directly to Hell. He spoke briefly with Satan, and the call cost him 27 cents.
When he returned to the White House, he found out that this same service was now available in the U.S., too. He tried it again and received a bill for $12,000. George W. was surprised.
"How come? The same call only cost me 27 cents in the Middle East," asked George. "Well," said his staff assistant, "over there it is a local call."

This is a modern, wry corruption of the older, gentlier joke, in which the call to G-d in Heaven cost $12,000 in Washington D.C. but only cost $2.50 from Jerusalem.

It's not wry at all. You're just an old dork.
