It started to rain June 13th and it really hasn't stopped since then. In the last month we've had buckets and buckets drop on us including one mother-of-all-torrential-rains deluge three weeks ago that poured over 10" on us in one day. It set a record.
I had never really watched a flash flood unfold. We were at a restaurant when the storm hit and, when we left three hours later, cars in the parking lot were swamped. One guy's Honda Del Sol had water lapping over his driver's seat. My truck, which is decently tall, wouldn't start. I walked two miles home (waded, actually) to get my neighbor who has a monster truck so then we could go back and pick up Michelle. That was quite a wet day.
Yesterday, during a break in the now quite common thunderstorms, I walked outside on our veranda at work and saw a Blue Heron standing in the pond area outside. The area that he is standing on is normally a dry, sandy island about three feet high. He seemed to be loving it.

Did your truck ever start back up? And the view from office is great.
